Font Issues

I am aware that it is more difficult with some Styles to find the clickable area within a square. This can be a pain in the proverbial. The problem is that unless I use a monospaced font, the non-breaking space character (and normal space character) have usually been made narrow or very narrow. Most of the non-commercial monospaced fonts are not that great for the 4D game board IMHO.

I have particularly noticed that this is the case with the HighVis Style. Only a decent bold font works with the black circles. However the space character is comparatively so very very narrow.

I’ve tried editing fonts that I probably shouldn’t, but that only seemed to work in Safari on Mac. Under other setups the browser seems to recognise my edited font and load the “same” font directly from the system. (? – anyway that didn’t work)

So it looks like I need to create my own font – and believe me they don’t make it easy. So far I have found that any recommended freeware has little in the way of manuals or help.
Luckily I only need three characters ‘X’ ‘O’ and ‘ ‘.

Another side-project is born.
(I hope it is not as hard as it seems right now.)
